Baseball Recap: Yorkville Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Yorkville got themselves on the board against Glenbrook North on Saturday, but Glenbrook North never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 9-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Foxes have won by exactly nine runs.

Yorkville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Glenbrook North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorkville will venture away from home to face off against Minooka at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Foxes 3.1, the Indians 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Glenbrook North, they will head out on the road to take on Evanston at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
