Basketball Game Preview: Martin Warriors vs. Marcus Marauders

The Martin Warriors will take on the Marcus Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Martin comes in on three and Marcus on four.

Martin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Lake Highlands 48-46. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Marcus didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Plano East on Monday, but they still walked away with a 64-58 victory.

Marcus' win bumped their record up to 26-8. As for Martin, their victory bumped their record up to 23-13.

Martin came out on top in a nail-biter against Marcus in their previous meeting back in November of 2016, sneaking past 52-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Martin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
