Basketball Game Preview: Camden Bulldogs vs. Lancaster Bruins

The Camden Bulldogs will square off against the Lancaster Bruins at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Camden is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.8 points per game this season.

Camden is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing York: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Camden blew York out of the water with a 68-22 final score. With the Bulldogs ahead 40-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Camden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shanaryah Wright, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Those 15 points gave Wright a new career-high. Braylin Mungo was another key player, going 9 for 19 on her way to 21 points and eight steals.

Camden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Lancaster played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by South Pointe and fell 68-34. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Stallions are ranked second).

Camden pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 48.8 points. As for Lancaster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Camden might still be hurting after the 55-35 defeat they got from Lancaster in their previous matchup back in December of 2014. Can Camden avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
