Softball Recap: Ann Sobrato Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Ann Sobrato and Branham have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost three in a row.

Graciella Marchan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Jordan Bouton was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Ann Sobrato now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Branham, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ann Sobrato will square off against Santa Teresa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Saints at the right time seeing as the Saints are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Branham, they will take on Leland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
