Soccer Game Preview: Hardin-Jefferson vs. Liberty

The Hardin-Jefferson Hawks will face off against the Liberty Panthers at 2:25 p.m. on Saturday. Hardin-Jefferson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Hardin-Jefferson's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They beat Hamshire-Fannett by a goal, winning 1-0. Hugo Lezama had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Liberty beat Vidor 3-1 on Friday.

Hardin-Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Liberty, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

Hardin-Jefferson came out on top in a nail-biter against Liberty when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hardin-Jefferson since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
