Basketball Recap: Del Sol Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Del Sol had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Channel Islands Raiders on Monday, falling 71-38.

Despite the defeat, Del Sol saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Abel Arrizon went 6-for-13 en route to 14 points.

Channel Islands found their leader in sophomore Zach Chaney, who posted 20 points and four steals. Ashley Duya was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Del Sol wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-51 loss against Hueneme on the 18th. As for Channel Islands, they have also already played their next game, a 48-40 defeat against Santa Clara on the 18th.
