Basketball Recap: Grapevine Faith Christian Takes a Loss

Grapevine Faith Christian was the 61-48 winner over Southwest Christian School when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Grapevine Faith Christian Lions and the Southwest Christian School Eagles didn't end well, with the Grapevine Faith Christian Lions falling 35-21. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 598th, while the Eagles are ranked 208th).

Despite the loss, Grapevine Faith Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Presleigh West posted six points.

Grapevine Faith Christian now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Southwest Christian School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Grapevine Faith Christian has already played their next contest, a 51-42 defeat against Tatum on the 26th. As for Southwest Christian School, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Trinity Christian at 3:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
