Football Game Preview: Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns vs. Stafford Spartans

The Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns will challenge the Stafford Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hamshire-Fannett is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 6, 2024 on Friday. They took a blow against Almeta Crawford, falling 63-21. The loss was the Longhorns' first of the season.

Although Hamshire-Fannett took the loss, they still got scores from Jess Folsom, Dwayne Long, and Pierce Pirtle.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 49 points the game before, Stafford was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 32-8 to Calhoun.

Despite the loss, Stafford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aiden Seales picked up 103 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 72 yards on only nine carries. Those 103 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Seales.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hamshire-Fannett fell to 3-1. As for Stafford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Hamshire-Fannett's way against Stafford when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Hamshire-Fannett made off with a 34-14 win. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
