Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Comes Up Short

Mid-Carolina was the 48-37 winner over Eau Claire when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Mid-Carolina Rebels fell just short of the Eau Claire Shamrocks by a score of 46-44 on Friday. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Destinee Tiller was her usual excellent self, putting up 28 points and five boards for Eau Claire. That makes it five consecutive games in which Tiller has scored at least a third of Eau Claire's points. Clemyra Cyrus was another key player, earning six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Mid-Carolina's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Eau Claire, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Mid-Carolina has already played their next match, a 49-39 loss against Clinton on the 24th. As for Eau Claire, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-35 defeat against Keenan on the 18th.
