Basketball Game Preview: Cheyenne Wells Tigers vs. Briggsdale Falcons

The Cheyenne Wells Tigers will take on the Briggsdale Falcons in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne Wells is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Cheyenne Wells will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Stanton County, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Tigers pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over the Trojans on Saturday.

It was another big night for Corey Hill, who dropped a double-double with 36 points and 19 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 31 times he's played. Trey Scheler was another key player, putting up eight points and six assists.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Tuesday. Briggsdale fell 62-53 to Front Range Baptist. The defeat continues a trend for Briggsdale in their meetings with Front Range Baptist: they've now lost three in a row.

Cheyenne Wells' win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Briggsdale, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Cheyenne Wells couldn't quite get it done against Briggsdale in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as they fell 65-54. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
