St. Joseph's Catholic will be up against a hot Powdersville squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 12. Powdersville simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Southside Christian 67-21. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.

Powdersville can attribute much of their success to Raegan Bryant, who went 10 of 19 en route to 26 points in addition to six assists and four steals, and Makayla Assemian, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. The matchup was Assemian's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Davidson, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds.
Powdersville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, everything went St. Joseph's Catholic's way against Carolina Academy on Tuesday as St. Joseph's Catholic made off with a 57-35 victory. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Trojans are ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Joseph's Catholic found their leader in freshman Evie Adams, who posted 17 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Tiffany Helmer, who earned 15 points.
Powdersville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Powdersville has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph's Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Powdersville strolled past St. Joseph's Catholic in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 65-51. Will Powdersville repeat their success, or does St. Joseph's Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
