Volleyball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York was the 2-0 winner over Maine South when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dukes fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Hunter Stepanich paced York's offense, picking up 14 kills. Stepanich got some help from Carson Cruver and his 30 assists. Finally, Leo Nardini kept York's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Maine South, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.

York has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Glenbard East on the 10th. As for Maine South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Lake Zurich on the 10th.
