Basketball Recap: North Point's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

North Point suffered their closest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Leonardtown Raiders by a score of 60-58. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, North Point still got an impressive performance from Landhn Mathis, who went 13 of 22 en route to 34 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Mathis is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Greene, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leonardtown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Windell, who scored 16 points and four steals. Windell's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jameson Dyson was another key player, going 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

North Point's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Leonardtown, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

North Point didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-66 loss against King's Christian Academy on the 1st. As for Leonardtown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-60 victory against Huntingtown on the 3rd.
