Soccer Game Preview: Davis vs. Woods Cross

The Davis Darts will venture away from home to challenge the Woods Cross Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Woods Cross will be up against a hot Davis team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Darts came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Olympus. Kate Willard had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Davis got from the refs.

Ellie Stowers and Willard scored both of Davis' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Woods Cross faced off against Ogden on Wednesday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers.

Davis' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Woods Cross, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Davis' way against Woods Cross in their previous matchup back in August of 2018, as Davis made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Darts since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
