Baseball Recap: Black Hills Takes a Loss

Black Hills fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Centralia on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 11-2.

Willy Kytta put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Cooper Parkinson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Black Hills dropped their record down to 3-14 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Centralia, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-19.

Black Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centralia, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 loss against Hockinson on the 10th.
