Baseball Recap: Heide Trask Drops Highest Score of Season Against Spring Creek

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heide Trask). They blew past the Spring Creek Gators 14-1 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Heide Trask got a great performance from Tanner Sparkman as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave Sparkman a new career-high.

At the plate, Brantley Lunsford was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Monroe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

Heide Trask always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Heide Trask's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8. As for Spring Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Heide Trask will host Northside - Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spring Creek, they will take on Princeton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Princeton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Spring Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
