Basketball Recap: Purvis Takes a Loss

Purvis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies 53-18. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-33 back in January.

Despite the loss, Purvis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zoey Robinson posted five points in addition to 13 rebounds and three blocks. Robinson is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Even though they lost, Purvis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 22 consecutive contests.

Purvis' defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Purvis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-33 loss against Sumrall on the 4th. Forrest County Agricultural does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
