Basketball Recap: Cesar E. Chavez Comes Up Short

Cesar E. Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-32 defeat at the hands of the Sterling Raiders. If the Lobos were looking for revenge after losing 65-26 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Destiny Lewis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sterling, going 13 of 20 on her way to 36 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. Lewis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Morrow, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards.

Cesar E. Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Sterling, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Cesar E. Chavez will look to defend their home court on Monday against Westside at 7:15 p.m. As for Sterling, they and Washington will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
