Football Recap: Hueytown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Bessemer City last Friday, Hueytown came back down to earth. The Golden Gophers and the Hillcrest Patriots were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Golden Gophers suffered a 27-26 loss. The Golden Gophers have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Hueytown now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hillcrest, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Hueytown and Hillcrest should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Golden Gophers will take on Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (34 vs. 88). Meanwhile, Hillcrest (ranked 14th) will meet Tuscaloosa County (ranked 125th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
