Recap: Carmel Corsairs vs. Saint Viator Lions
The Carmel Corsairs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Saint Viator by a score of 43-30 on Saturday. Given Carmel's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Saint Viator is ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Saint Viator still got an impressive performance from Andrea Rivera, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kalin McCrea, who scored three points along with three steals.
Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Saint Viator, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Marian Catholic the next time they take the court. Saint Viator will host Marian Catholic at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Carmel will host them at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
