Baseball Recap: Fruita Monument Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fruita Monument can now relate to. They fell just short of the Pueblo West Cyclones by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 9-8 to the Cyclones when the teams met back in March of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fruita Monument saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Elsberry, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Karson Reed also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Fruita Monument's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Pueblo West, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Fruita Monument nor Pueblo West have any future games scheduled.
