Baseball Recap: Vallejo Takes a Loss

If Vallejo was feeling good fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Bethel on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redhawks fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Redhawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 15-5.

David Bernstine III was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Lebeau (HC) Wallace was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one double.

Vallejo has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Bethel, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16.

While Vallejo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
