Grapevine Faith Christian hasn't had much luck against All S recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will face off against the Saints at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
All S will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Grapevine Faith Christian extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Lions took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-7 victory over Lake Country Christian. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 42-point advantage.
Grapevine Faith Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Montes led the charge by picking up 126 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 81 yards and one touchdown.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run Noah Smith was in the mix as well, providing the Lions with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Grapevine Faith Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Grapevine Faith Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Kelly and Smith. Kelly got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask All S). They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Evergreen 49-21. With the Saints ahead 35-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Grapevine Faith Christian better keep an eye on Gavin Beard. He was instrumental in All S' win, throwing for 339 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.5% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Beard has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. All S' leading receiver Hudson Reasor was Beard's top target yet again, picking up 90 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
One reason for the win was All S' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kingston Beyer, Jet Thomas, and Kellen Wright, who each picked up one sack apiece. Keyon Adkins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Grapevine Faith Christian's record now sits at 4-0. As for All S, their record is now 5-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Grapevine Faith Christian has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 540.8 total yards per game. However, it's not like All S struggles in that department as they've been averaging 386.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Grapevine Faith Christian took a serious blow against All S when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 51-7. Thankfully for the Lions, Gavin Parkhurst (who threw for 175 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
