Basketball Recap: Brookstone Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Brookstone dropped to 4-5 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They had to suffer through a 77-39 loss at the hands of the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 307th in Georgia, while the Warriors are ranked 24th in Alabama).

As for Lee-Scott Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games.

Leading Lee-Scott Academy to victory were Haiden Harper and Chapman Harris. Harper shot 67% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, while Harris posted 11 points. The matchup was Harper's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brooks Zachry, who had nine points.

Coming up, Brookstone won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kendrick at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will be up against the Cherokees' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they and LaFayette will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
