Baseball Recap: Hamburg Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hamburg and Monticello had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lions fell just short of the Billies by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Billies: they've now lost three in a row.

Hamburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Monticello, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamburg will venture away from home to square off against Crossett at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monticello, they will square off against Watson Chapel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Billies are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
