Baseball Recap: River Forest Comes Up Short

The River Forest Ingots didn't have quite enough to beat the Michigan City Wolves on Thursday and fell 9-8. The Ingots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Fergerson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another was Sebastian Collazo IV, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

River Forest's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Michigan City, their record is now 8-19.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. River Forest will square off against Andrean at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Michigan City, they will head out on the road to face off against Marquette Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.88 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
