Preview: Arickaree Bison vs. Otis Bulldogs
Arickaree is 1-6 against Otis since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Arickaree Bison will be playing in front of their home fans against the Otis Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Arickaree unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 27-18 to Idalia. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arickaree has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Arickaree got a solid performance out of LILLY MONAT, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of RAEYA SCHROCK, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Otis suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a tough 59-39 loss at the hands of Briggsdale. Otis has not had much luck with Briggsdale recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Otis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madelyn Willeke, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds, and Aedyn Tribelhorn who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Arickaree's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Otis, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Arickaree have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Otis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
