Baseball Recap: Harrison Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Harrison had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Palmer Terrors 12-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Santiago Martinez made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Harrison: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Harrison got a massive performance out of Anthony Hernandez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Hernandez has posted since back in April. Gariel Gonzalez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Harrison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Harrison's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-14. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Palmer, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Coming up, Harrison will take on Mesa Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Palmer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
