Baseball Recap: Dallastown Wildcats vs. Cedar Cliff Colts

Dallastown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-3 to the Cedar Cliff Colts. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Dallastown of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Dallastown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ethan Schultz was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

On Cedar Cliff's side, Peyton Price looked comfortable as he pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Cayden Bender was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Anastasi, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Dallastown's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Cedar Cliff, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dallastown will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against South Western at 4:15 p.m. South Western will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Dallastown surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cedar Cliff, they will head out on the road to challenge State College at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Cliff's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so State College's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
