Soccer Game Preview: Roxboro Community vs. Eno River Academy

The Roxboro Community Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Eno River Academy Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Roxboro Community is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Vance Charter on Tuesday. Roxboro Community fell just short of Vance Charter by a score of 1-0. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Eno River Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Oxford Prep on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Griffins. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won six contests by six goals or more so far this season.

They hit Oxford Prep with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Viv Matthews (2), Sadie Olson (2), Evie Hurst, and Coralie Hopkins.

Eno River Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. Roxboro Community's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Roxboro Community couldn't quite get it done against Eno River Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can Roxboro Community avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
