Softball Recap: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Sierra Vista Mountain Lions
The matchup between Desert Oasis and Sierra Vista on Monday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. Desert Oasis blew past Sierra Vista 15-4. With that win, the Diamondbacks brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Ali Perkins made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Nolly Newbry was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Brianna Bartok also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
