Volleyball Recap: Space Coast Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Space Coast was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cocoa on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vipers lost 3-0 to the Astronaut War Eagles on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vipers in their meetings with the War Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Astronaut scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why Space Coast lost, don't look at Haley Cowling. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs and one assist. Cowling is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

Jojo Demers was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven games.

Space Coast's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Astronaut, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Space Coast will challenge Eau Gallie at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Astronaut, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Satellite on the 18th.
