Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Cottonwood's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Tooele came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Cottonwood, but Carley Caton wouldn't allow it. The Cottonwood Colts managed a 54-50 victory over the Tooele Buffaloes on Thursday thanks in part to Caton, who went 12 for 17 on her way to 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Taylor Workman, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine boards, and nine assists. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Halle Hogan, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Lora, who scored five points and 17 boards.

Cottonwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Tooele, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.

Cottonwood has already played their next contest, a 63-27 win against Hillcrest on the 4th. As for Tooele, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-49 victory against Murray on the 4th.
