Basketball Recap: Charlie Wingfield's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ramapo over Ridgewood

Ramapo lost against Ridgewood last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ramapo Raiders fell 53-45 to the Ridgewood Maroons.

Ramapo's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Wingfield, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points. Wingfield is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last seven games he's played. Aj Greig was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Ramapo's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Ridgewood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Ramapo and Ridgewood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. Ramapo will take on Morris Knolls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 124 places (44 vs. 168). Ramapo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Ridgewood (ranked 14th) will meet Clifton (ranked 273rd) on Thursday.
