Soccer Recap: Coronado Takes a Loss

Coronado lost to Amarillo back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs lost 8-0 to the Sandies. While losing is never fun, Coronado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 558th, while Amarillo are ranked 32nd).

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Amarillo, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Coronado will challenge rival Lubbock-Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Amarillo is set to take on their familiar foe Plainview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
