Eldorado is a perfect 6-0 against Santa Fe since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eagles will take on the Demons at 10:00 a.m. Eldorado is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Eldorado is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Los Lunas, who was ranked 12th at the time (Eldorado was ranked seventh). The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers on Thursday, sneaking past 5-4.
Eldorado saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathaniel Jaramillo, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe posted their closest victory since April 28, 2025 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out West Mesa 6-5.
Darrell Carbajal made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Jayden Romero was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabe Barker, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Eldorado's record is now 20-4. As for Santa Fe, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Eldorado hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Santa Fe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Eldorado's way against Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Eldorado made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
