Champaign Central has gone 9-0 against Rantoul recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Champaign Central Maroons will be home for the holidays to greet the Rantoul Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Saturday, Champaign Central came up short against Richwoods and fell 44-34. The Maroons haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Champaign Central's loss came about despite a quality game from Alex Parastaran, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amina Robinson, who posted seven points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Rantoul ended up a good deal behind Arthur-Okaw Christian on Monday and lost 62-44. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 610th, while the Conquering Riders are ranked 247th).

Rantoul dropped their record down to 1-11 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Champaign Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Champaign Central against Rantoul when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 58-30 victory. Will Champaign Central repeat their success, or does Rantoul have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
