The Harmony Longhorns will head out to square off against the Hagerty Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harmony is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Harmony didn't have quite enough to beat Windermere and fell 8-7. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Harmony saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Westin Thompson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most hits Thompson has posted since back in February.
Meanwhile, Hagerty had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Silverhawks an 11-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly 11 runs.
Hagerty let A. Kearney and N. Rhodes run wild. Kearney scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Rhodes scored a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of M. Salva, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Hagerty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .381 or higher in three consecutive games.
Hagerty pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Harmony, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
Both Harmony and Hagerty just can't seem to miss. Harmony has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Hagerty struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Harmony came out on top in a nail-biter against Hagerty in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, sneaking past 6-4. Will Harmony repeat their success, or does Hagerty has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
