Softball Game Preview: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Burrillville Broncos

The Mt. Hope Huskies will head out to challenge the Burrillville Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Hope is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Mt. Hope had taken East Greenwich down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Huskies lost 14-2 to the Avengers.

Mt. Hope saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Haberman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Burrillville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against West Warwick, falling 12-5.

Macey Polacek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Audette, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Burrillville's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Mt. Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Mt. Hope might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from Burrillville when the teams last played back in April. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
