Baseball Recap: Holly Grove Christian Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Holly Grove Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 12-1 to Salisbury Christian. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Salisbury Christian earlier this season, when they won 4-0.

Holly Grove Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Hamilton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Andrew Zink also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Holly Grove Christian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Salisbury Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holly Grove Christian will square off against Greenwood Mennonite at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flames have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Salisbury Christian, they will face off against Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
