Sugar Creek Charter came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Garinger, but Aaron Lawler wouldn't allow it. Garinger narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Sugar Creek Charter 66-63 for which the team can thank Lawler, who posted 20 points and four steals. His big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

Despite the loss, Sugar Creek Charter still got an impressive performance from Corde Harrison, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 18 points and five boards. Harrison has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Kimani Lewis was another key player, putting up ten points.

The victory got Garinger back to even at 1-1. As for Sugar Creek Charter, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Garinger will face off against Rocky River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sugar Creek Charter, they will be playing at home against The Math and Science Academy of Charlotte - Concord Campus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
