Basketball Game Preview: Fivay Falcons vs. Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders

The Fivay Falcons will head out to take on the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fivay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.7 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Fivay beat Pasco 77-73.

Odell Brown and Antwan Brown were among the main playmakers for Fivay as the former dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards and the latter dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Odell a new career-high. Tyshawn James was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took racking up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Clearwater Central Catholic came up short against Indian Rocks Christian on Tuesday and fell 50-40. The game marked the Marauders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fivay's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.

Fivay came up short against Clearwater Central Catholic when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 62-54. Can Fivay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
