Basketball Recap: Willow Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bonnabel last Tuesday, Willow came back down to earth. The Willow Lions might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Doyle Tigers an easy 54-33 victory. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Tigers are ranked 59th).

Willow's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Doyle, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Willow will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Haynes Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Doyle also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Northlake Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
