Volleyball Recap: Howells-Dodge Starts Season with Loss at Home

Howells-Dodge unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Oakland-Craig Knights on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Howells-Dodge was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-22.

Kylie Brichacek paced Howells-Dodge's offense, picking up seven kills. Brichacek got some help from Addison Heard and her 13 assists.

Howells-Dodge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Winside on the 30th. As for Oakland-Craig, they will face off against Lutheran-Northeast at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
