Softball Recap: La Pine Comes Up Short

La Pine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Creswell Bulldogs. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 18-17.

La Pine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nevaeh Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

La Pine's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Creswell, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-10 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. La Pine will take on rival Pleasant Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Creswell is set to face off against their familiar foe Sisters at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
