Basketball Recap: Emily Mccrea Key Part of a Team Effort in Panthers Win

Prairie Heights hadn't done well against Garrett recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Prairie Heights Panthers managed a 41-36 win over the Garrett Railroaders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 33-32 back in November of 2024.

Prairie Heights' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily McCrea, who posted nine points and four steals. Bailee Godsey was another key player, putting up 13 points.

The win snapped Prairie Heights' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-12 record. As for Garrett, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Prairie Heights and Garrett could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Prairie Heights will take on East Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 217 places (311 vs. 94). Similarly, Garrett (ranked 299th) will meet Bellmont (ranked 17th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
