Recap: Struthers Wildcats vs. Poland Seminary Bulldogs
After a string of four wins, The Struthers Wildcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to Poland Seminary. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Struthers was just barely outscored by Poland Seminary in the second.
Despite the loss, Struthers still got an impressive performance from Devin Braham, who rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 58 receiving yards. Braham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Jason Dukes was another key contributor, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Dominic Pagano looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 142 yards and a touchdown.
Struthers' loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Poland Seminary, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Struthers will take on Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Poland Seminary, they will play host again and welcome East Liverpool, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Liverpool will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Poland Seminary is ranked 74th).
