Basketball Game Preview: Adams City Eagles vs. Brighton Bulldogs

Adams City is 0-9 against Brighton since February of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Adams City Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Brighton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Brighton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Adams City, who comes in off a win.

Adams City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 65-33 win over Montbello. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since February 6, 2024.

Adams City can attribute much of their success to Elijah Vigil, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points and eight steals, and Jojo Martinez, who posted 14 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Rogelio Moncada, who put up eight points and four steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Adams City was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Brighton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against Mountain Range, falling 74-42. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.

Brighton now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Adams City, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.

Adams City came up short against Brighton when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 70-66. Thankfully for Adams City, Cooper George (who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
