Softball Recap: John Jay Takes a Loss

John Jay dropped to 7-7 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the White Plains Tigers by a score of 10-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for White Plains, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

For White Plains' part, Alexis Tighe spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 17 Ks. Tighe has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, White Plains got a big performance out of Noelle Quinones, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Valentina Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

John Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for White Plains, they will square off against Fox Lane at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
