Basketball Recap: Libertyville Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Libertyville won the last time they faced Zion-Benton and things went their way on Friday too. The Libertyville Wildcats strolled past the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees with points to spare, taking the game 63-45. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Zee-Bees are ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Libertyville's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Zion-Benton, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Libertyville will take on Lake Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Zion-Benton, they will square off against Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
